1. All Starts with Water!

Wishing Well for Rural Development is working on our third well rehabilitation and construction projects.  Before our involvement, the adopted communities were drinking polluted surface water.  Waterborne diseases were common and the children had serious health issues.  With the now available clean water, there is a hope for a better health.  Children and teenagers will be free to attend school instead of hauling water from considerable distances.  This is, at the very least, a place from where to start.

2. Providing elementary school supplies

The lack of classroom supplies is a problem in the communities we serve.  Parents have little or no means to buy basic school supplies (notebooks, pens, and pencils) for their children.  WWRD recognizes the importance of education and how it contributes to breaking the cycle of poverty.  In Fall 2018, we have engaged with the leadership of the following grade schools: EPP Dolohoe, EPP Kpime Kopegan, EPP Agotime Adame and EPP Nyidove (total of 800 pupils).  WWRD spent about $5,000 on classroom supplies as well as on student supplies.  We believe it is a worthy investment!
